Abstract

This article is a study on the performance of public servers of the Law and the knowledge they must have to be able to carry out their work. As the first point, we take a look into the terms that refer to judicial ethics and the way these have been studied, highlighting the principle of professionalism inside the Mexican Law system. After that, the author establishes the lines of action around which the judge or the public server shall proceed with professionalism, emphasizing the relevance of the constant actualization regarding the judicial sciences, in a way that it is possible to ensure that the most suitable person is the one carrying out the jurisdictional function, as well as solving the conflicts that may arise inside same. Continuing with the study and analysis was performed of the knowledge that a judge must have, as well as the manner in which the actualizations on Law matter must be performed: philosophy, ethics, and other branches of same that can be helpful for the resolution of conflicts in jurisdictional offices.

Doctor en Derecho por la Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona, España. Actualmente es investigador del Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas de la UNAM, y miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, Nivel II, del CONACYT. Fue investigador de ética judicial en el Instituto de Investigaciones Jurisprudenciales y de promoción y difusión de la ética judicial en la SCJN.
