Abstract

Based on the concepts of social security, social law, distributive justice, affirmative actions and reasonable adjustments, we make an analysis on whether the change that is taking place in the pension systems in Latin America considers these characteristics in order to improve social security or to create a retirement system where all beneficiaries have a better pension and consequently a better quality of life. In addition, we point out the concept of social security and its components such as social law and distributive justice. The importance of state intervention to make the leveling of social inequalities a reality can only be significant if we generate mechanisms such as reasonable adjustments and positive actions. Economically weak or vulnerable groups due to historical discrimination are the ones who need these systems the most in order to place themselves on an equal plane of opportunities within society.
