Abstract

In this essay we will study the jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional constitutional control mechanisms as a practical theoretical exercise. So, we will begin by addressing the definition of the constitution as a founding norm, which allows to establish a clear normative hierarchy, for the establishment of jurisdictional processes in which secondary and individualized norms are challenged. As a second subject, we will study the jurisdictional mechanisms of constitutional protection as individualized processes, addressing the legal deadlines and the capacity required for their exercise. Afterwards, we will analyze the non-jurisdictional means of protection as an evolution in the matter of human rights. Especially, when specialized institutions are created to carry out investigations in the matter of infringement of the fundamental rights of the governed.
