IUSPOETIC REPORT VS. EVICTION TRIAL. A POEM BY OTTO RENE CASTILLO

Abstract

The following essay offers an analysis of law and litera- ture of the poem “Informe de una injusticia” by Otto Rene Castillo, particularly considering the category of legal poem or iuspoetic. It is about a Guatemalan guerrilla-poet who developed a political poetry in favor of the poor and oppressed people. The poem illustrates the legality of the injustice suffered by Damiana Murcia due to an evic- tion trial. The analysis is integrated with the previous review of the biographical and stylistic background of the author.
