TRUTH AND DARE: TWO LEGAL WAYS TO DEFINE GENDER VIOLENCE IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE
Keywords:
violence, gender, justice, interpretation, regulationAbstract
This article presents a historical analysis regarding the contexts that gave rise to the regulation of “violence” and “gender violence”, fully valid terms in the Mexican legal system that share a common word, but were created to pay attention to social realities with different characteristics and needs. Explaining the genealogy of these terms has the following objectives: to understand the implications and dilemmas that it poses for a justice operator, to apply them as if they were synonymous or as if one were simply the derivation of the other; and reflect on the impact of adopting one or another concept in the solution of a case.
