BRIDGING THE GAP: REFLECTIONS ON PATERNAL LEAVE IN MEXICO
Keywords:
Paternity leave, paternity leave, Federal Labor Law, gender roles, gender equalityAbstract
Paternity leave is still a pending issue in Mexico, granting five days of paternity to men is insufficient in the face of a reality that requires implementing substantive equality between men and women in the fight against stereotypes and gender roles. The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the need for paternity leave to evolve, not only to increase the period, but also to promote a paradigm shift in Mexican society and in power relations between men and women.
