THE SOCIAL STIGMA: BARRIER FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE ADVANCED FREEDOM PROGRAM
Keywords:
Social reintegration, Early release, Social stigmaAbstract
The study presents the previous results of an ongoing research on the barriers faced by people who have ob- tained the benefit of early release in social reintegration programs. From an interactionist perspective, the articulation of two categories is carried out: the interactions in the construction of the subjectivity of those who are beneficiaries of the anticipated freedom program and social stigma; being the latter, the main barrier to achieving the purposes of the institutional program. The analysis is based on the information provided by three external persons -beneficiaries of the program-, who share their experiences during the reintegration process in the family and work environments. The previous results show the responsibility of the State before the ineffectiveness of the anticipated freedom program.
