JUDICIAL EDUCATION BASED ON COMPETENCES: EXPERIENCE IN STATE OF MEXICO JUDICIAL SCHOOL

The judicial education has become one of the central bases for law enforcement in the State of Mexico. This is why the changes that have occurred in this institution are mentioned. This article begins with a historical review of the judicial education with emphasis on lectures and on the model change that involves a more practical learning, which allows learners to grow more completely. In regard to the education based on competences, this is briefly addressed highlighting its importance as a social need and how it prevails as a human right directly related to law enforcement. Taking this into consideration, this article explains the creation of State of Mexico Judicial School and its national impact. Additionally, special attention is paid to the challenges generated by the implementation of specialized curricula in this field and how classes should be taught. Finally, this article shows some of the results of the judicial education in the State of Mexico.
